On Tuesday 20th July

VATS will be tasting L'Olivier Wines presented by

Wim Schonfield/Carina Jordaan

The L'Olivier NonPareil range of wines captures the true meaning of the name
NonPareil in "Having no equal". The grapes of the Sauvignon Blanc is
specifically grown for the taste and not for quantity. The grapes were
produced with a high canopy and long shoots that provide protection from the
sun, ensuring definitive flavours. 

The vineyards are in direct sight of False Bay, enjoying the cool sea
breezes for slow ripening. This is a well balanced wine with an exceptional
good nose, typical grassiness and gooseberry with a prominent sent of
tropical fruits - an impressive concentration of flavours. The 2008 Non
Pareil sauvignon blanc received the Michelangelo double gold international
wine award and also a veritas silver.

The wine maker is Michel Dobrovic from Muldersbosch.

Who's welcome:         Everybody who wants to taste and learn more about
wine is welcome

Venue:                        Bryanston Country Club in the Bowlers lounge
at 19h15 for 19h30

Booked Tasting:         This is not a booked tasting 

Tasting glasses:            All attendees are required to bring 6 wine
tasting glasses in order to taste the wines

In addition:                    An assortment of breads with olive oils, as
well as a variety of their different biltong will be made available to
people attending tomorrow's tasting

Should members like to view forthcoming tastings, please go on the VATS
website and click on "Tasting Calendar".    A list of tastings & presenters
will be displayed.

Time: 19h30, please could all participants have paid and be seated by 19h30
as a courtesy to the presenters and fellow members

 

Tasting Etiquette:  

*	Please respect the wine and other tasters by not wearing aftershaves
and perfumes to the tasting. 
*	It would also be appreciated if smokers could avoid smoking just
prior to entering the tasting room as the lingering smoke also affects the
smell of the wines. 
*	Please could we ask that you to also brief your guests on this
courtesy when you invite them.
*	Please also ensure that your guests have a sufficient number of
tasting glasses. 

 

Tasting Costs:  

*	Members pay R25.00  per tasting; non-members R50.00 per tasting
*	For "Special Tastings" non-members are required to pay R100.00 for
the tasting on that particular evening
